Close Up – Norbert Bisky Class Reloaded
Whether from Amsterdam, Dar es Salaam or Moscow – in August 2017 Osnabrück became the creative centre for 20 artists from all over the world.
When 20 artists took part in Norbert Bisky’s class at the Salzburg Summer Academy in 2014, none of them suspected the creative dynamic that would develop from it. The first group exhibition followed the same year in Irkutsk, Siberia; since then the class has met every summer with its former teacher for a joint exhibition – in Berlin in 2015 and in Munich in 2016.
The motto “Close Up” referred to the rule of submitting only works no larger than one square metre. A work by Norbert Bisky was also on show. The range extended from figurative works and colour-intensive abstractions to minimalist forms of expression and three-dimensional prints.
