Empower Her Art Forum 2025

Art connects cultures

From 16 to 20 May 2025 I had the special honour of taking part in the third edition of the international Empower Her Art Forum (EHAF) at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

At the personal invitation of Shereen Badr, founder and patron of the forum organised by Artoday, I was part of this international art event, which focused on female creativity, artistic exchange and cultural encounter. Together with other international women artists, I was represented by the Belgian New Jorg Gallery under the curatorial direction of Jorg van Daele.

Art in an extraordinary place

With its monumental architecture and its combination of ancient Egyptian history and contemporary design, the Grand Egyptian Museum provided an impressive setting. Presenting contemporary art in a place that unites thousands of years of human creativity and history was an extraordinary experience for me.

International encounters

The forum brought together women artists from different countries and cultures. The inspiring conversations, new encounters and diverse artistic positions were especially enriching. The festive opening on 16 May included a reception, musical performances, official speeches and the opening of the exhibitions.

My special thanks go to Shereen Badr and Artoday, and to Jorg van Daele and the New Jorg Gallery. These days in Cairo will remain in my memory as a special chapter of my artistic path.
