Shared Horizon

24–26 April 2026 · Chui Huay Lim Club, Singapore · International exhibition

Art connects continents

Sometimes an artistic adventure begins with an unexpected encounter. That is how my participation in the international art exhibition “Shared Horizon” in Singapore came about. I met the organisers at Art Capital in the Grand Palais in Paris, and this first contact led to the invitation to Singapore, which I accepted with great joy and curiosity.

From 24 to 26 April 2026, international artists presented their work at the Chui Huay Lim Club in Singapore. Curated by ACCES and Margo Calderero Le Lain, the exhibition brought together artists from many countries as well as from China and Singapore, creating a multifaceted dialogue between different cultures, perspectives and artistic traditions.

I had the opportunity to show my own work in this international setting and to take part in an inspiring exchange. Despite different languages and traditions, it was palpable how directly art can connect people.

But the journey offered much more than the exhibition itself. Our Chinese colleagues welcomed us with great warmth and organised a varied programme: museum visits, insights into the Asian art world and workshops with Chinese artists. I was particularly and lastingly impressed by traditional Chinese ink painting – its techniques, artistic philosophies and ways of working. It also prompted me to reflect on my own work.

Singapore itself impressed me deeply as well: the exciting combination of tradition and modernity, the striking architecture, the cultural diversity and, not least, the varied cuisine. The international contacts and friendships formed during this trip, which continue beyond the exhibition, mean a great deal to me.

My warm thanks go to the organisers and curators for the invitation and the careful organisation, and to everyone involved for their openness and hospitality. The exhibition title “Shared Horizon” could hardly be more fitting: discovering new horizons together, learning from one another and creating connections through art that reach far beyond a single exhibition.
